A Christmas message to all my dear friends

All over the world, Christmas is celebrated on December 25 to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was born in a small town (Bethlehem) which is located in today's Israel. About 2000 years ago, God himself took human form, and came to the earth.

The Birth of Jesus Christ was predicted by the Prophets

The birth of Jesus Christ was not a random event in human history. It was prophesied about 700 years ago by prophet Isaiah.

Isaiah 9:6 (Old Testament, Bible): "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."

Prophet Micah prophesied that Christ will born in a town named Bethlehem (in Jerusalem)

Micah 5:2 (Old Testament, Bible): "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days."

Just as it was written in the Holy Scriptures, it was fulfilled. There are many such prophesies regarding the birth of Jesus Christ.

Who is Jesus Christ?

The prophesy which we have just seen describes Jesus as “the mighty God” (Isaiah 9:6). Yes, He is. He is the One who created all things that were created. Let us look into what Jesus said about himself.

John 8:58 (New Testament, Bible): “Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”"

This statement of Jesus makes it very clear that He is God. For his human nature, there was a beginning. His divine nature had no beginning. He was always there and He created all things that were created.

Why God took human form?

Why did the all-powerful, infinite, incomprehensible God took a human form? Why did God, the Creator of all things, have appeared amidst us as a lowly creature? Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners like you and me.

We (as sinners) deserve to pay the penalty of disobeying God. That penalty is eternal death. The penalty of disobeying an infinite being is infinite in nature. Therefore, we rightly deserved eternal death.

But, God who is infinitely merciful and gracious was pleased to save such a wretched sinners like us. But how can it be possible? God is infinitely holy and righteous. He cannot allow sin to go unpunished.

Jesus Christ took upon himself all the punishments that the miserable sinners (whom He saves) rightly deserved. Therefore, in the cross we see that the justice and love of God was satisfied. God can now save sinners. Jesus Christ died in place of the sinners that He saves. He was buried. But he was resurrected from the dead on the third day. The death could not hold Jesus Christ in bondage.

In believing in Jesus Christ, you can receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus Christ is able to save. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins. Accept him as the King of your life.

Jesus Christ said: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, New Testament, Bible).

To know more about Jesus Christ and His plan for your salvation, you can read the Bible.

Thank you for reading the message. May God guide you in truth.
